Mr. Sorapoj Techakraisri was recently selected as the winner of Thailand Property Awards Real Estate Personality of the Year for the year. The prestigious award is given by the editors of the Property Report Magazine. The process involves each member nominating one important real estate personality and a vote based on several factors, including the effect that they may have had on the Thai property market.
The nominee must also be a philanthropic figure and have a creative and innovative approach in regards to the future of the Thai property market. Mr. Sorapoj filled in the requirements, along with being able to introduce a degree of creativity to the growth of the business.
According to Jules Kay, the managing editor of the trade magazine, said that Mr. Sorapoj was chosen for his vision for modern Bangkok, adding that MahaNakhon, one of Mr. Sarapoj’s developments, already has a reputation as an iconic development in the country. Some other developments include Ficus Lang and Saladaeng Residences. According to Mr. Kay, Mr. Sorapoj’s ideas challenge preconceptions, which in turns inspires progress. Mr. Kay went on to say that this is the reason Mr. Sorapoj is worthy of this award.
The shortlist of winners was announced at the Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Center. Developments were varied and included many new developmental landmarks. According to Mr. Paul Ashburn, a senior partner at the company that oversees the judging process, the decision was based on very extensive and strict criteria.
Awards will be presented at The Thailand Property Awards 2013 Gala Dinner, held at the aforementioned convention Centre on September 19.
